Muslim Brotherhood Front Group Responds to Carson

The Muslim group, Council on American-Islamic Relations, is counseling Dr. Ben Carson on his First Amendment rights, telling him that he cannot state his opinion that “Islamic religion is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution”, without being told to step down.

“Mr. Carson clearly does not understand or care about the Constitution, which states that ‘no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office,’” said CAIR national executive director Nihad Awad.

He added, “We call on our nation’s political leaders – across the political spectrum – to repudiate these unconstitutional and un-American statements and for Mr. Carson to withdraw from the presidential race.”

Carson recognizes that Sharia Law and the Constitution cannot co-exsist, thus, a Muslim as President, who adheres to his Islamic ideology and belief in Sharia Law cannot hold the highest office in the land.  Sharia Law, for a devout Muslim, would eclipse the Constitution, that seems to be his point.

Carson replied, “Well, I guess it depends on what that faith is. If it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and [is] consistent with the Constitution – no problem.”

Carson needs to stand true to his convictions and not be intimidated by CAIR and their intolerant ways.
