Murdochs Knuckle Under to Leftist Pressure, Fire Bill O’Reilly Who Made Them Billions

O’Reilly was on an extended vacation in Italy when the hammer dropped on him. As a result, he wasn’t able to adequately defend himself against the charges. The Murdochs didn’t give him the opportunity to say goodbye to his millions of viewers and network friends.

In a statement released yesterday, O’Reilly expressed how much he was “disheartened” by his firing and claimed that the allegations against him are false and part of a smear campaign.

Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television. It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today.”

In recent months O’Reilly has been strongly supportive of President Trump, whom he knows as a personal friend. As a result, the progressive left targeted O’Reilly for elimination, calling on lawyer Lisa Bloom to lead the attack. Bloom is the daughter of Gloria Allred, who’s known for similar attacks and shakedowns on prominent conservatives.

By removing O’Reilly from the coveted 8 p.m. time slot, the Murdochs initiated a program reshuffle that gives more prominence to liberals like Juan Williams and Bob Beckel.

Tucker Carlson will move into the 8 p.m. slot and The Five will move from 5 p.m. to 9.m. to take the former Carlson spot.

The Five now will have six co-hosts instead of five. They will be: Kimberly Guilfoyle, Dana Perino, Jesse Watters, Bob Beckel, Greg Gutfeld and Juan Williams.

Watters takes the place of Eric Bolling, who will debut a new program in the 5 p.m. slot formerly held by The Five.

Already there are rumblings some conservatives hope O’Reilly will team up with Ailes to create a new network to compete with Fox News.

Because the Murdoch brothers are committed leftists, it appears that Fox News will continue its further drift away from conservatism. Shepard Smith, the afternoon anchor, has become extremely outspoken and hostile in his criticism of President Trump.

Commentary on social media such as Twitter shows that long-time Fox News and O’Reilly viewers are outraged by this turn of events.

Time will tell how much that outrage will affect future ratings.
