Multiple People Arrested Purportedly for Not Wearing Masks in California Grocery Store

Move than a dozen police officers in Cosa Mesa, California arrested multiple people on Saturday purportedly for not wearing a mask inside the grocery store Mother’s Market, and under the pretense of trespassing.

One woman being arrested claimed that the doors to the market were locked until police arrived – seen in the video below. The OC Register reported that the arrests were made on suspicions of trespassing.

Bystanders screamed at police officers: “You support tyranny!” as they were placed in custody.

Two women were arrested on suspicion of trespassing during an anti-mask rally in Costa Mesa Saturday afternoon, Aug. 15, authorities said.

Costa Mesa police were called to Mother’s Market, at 1890 Newport Blvd., by a manager reporting the trespassers before 2:15 p.m., police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad said.

It was unclear what the protesters did to get arrested. Their identities were not immediately released by authorities.

A rally had been taking place adjacent to the store near Newport Boulevard and 19th Street since 11 a.m., with demonstrators protesting COVID-19 restrictions, police said.

On the surface, it appears that people from the anti-mask rally went into the market to make a purchase and had the doors locked on them until police arrived, with the employee or manager telling police that those without a mask were trespassing. Were anti-mask protesters asked to leave and refused, only to be locked in?
