Missouri Legislators Override Governor Nixon’s Gun Control Measures

Mark down yesterday as a significant victory for the gun rights movement because yet another state has joined the ranks of those that recognize the principle of constitutional carry.

While many states allow citizens to carry concealed firearms in public places, most require gun owners to obtain some form of written permission from proper authorities before they can do so. In contrast, constitutional carry holds that the Second Amendment itself grants Americans the right to concealed carry. States that recognize this are Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Vermont, Wyoming, West Virginia, and now, Missouri.
