Cleaver did not elaborate on what he specifically meant by “taken out.” It is also not clear if Cleaver was talking about criminals shooting at police or the Oath Keepers who arrived early Tuesday morning in Ferguson. His remarks, however, coincide with media coverage of the arrival of the Oath Keepers in Ferguson.
Consider the LA riots of 1992. Not only were shopkeepers armed with shotguns on the roof of their buildings, but the National Guard were welcomed by the law abiding residents and clergy of South Central LA. Those residents markets and other places of business they patronized, were destroyed, forcing residents to travel several miles outside their cities to just get milk. Compare that to Rev. Cleaver and his agenda to have the Oath Keepers “taken out”—taking his cue from the biased leftist social media crowd feeding the hatred:
