Maxine Waters Threatens to “Go and Take Out Trump Tonight”

Maxine Waters (D-CA), the Congresswoman who has uttered the word “impeachment” more often than the entire Democratic National Committee (DNC) combined, has decided that she wanted in on the whole Trump-threats-of-assassination cabal that appears to be gaining membership as every week goes by, as she was grandstanding to another group of supporters who just adore talk of killing our president.

Appearing on morning show Fox and Friends, conservative commentator Lawrence Jones claimed that Waters’s words had dangerous implications, particularly in the wake of the June shooting at a Republican congressional baseball practice that left House Majority Whip Steve Scalise in intensive care.

“I’m a free speech person and I’m a libertarian, but when you incite violence that should be investigated,” Jones said. “I’m not so concerned about Maxine Waters; I’m concerned about the people that listen to her—the people that tried to assassinate Republican congressmen at a baseball field. This is the type of behavior that sends these people out to assassinate Republicans.”

Jones’s fellow guest, Democratic strategist Michael Starr Hopkins, retorted that, while Waters’s language was loose, he believes she was referring to impeachment.

Among Democrats, Waters has been the most outspoken advocate of impeaching President Donald Trump. She has accused him of obstructing justice and has said there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia’s attempts to fix the election, even as investigations into that interference remain ongoing. Waters has also called for others to follow her lead in pushing for the president to be removed from office.

Jones, though, disputed that Waters’s latest comments represented merely her latest call for impeachment.

“’Hey, let’s go get the president,’ that’s essentially what she was saying,” he said. “It’s pretty clear what she said. She could have said impeachment if she wanted impeachment. She talked about essentially assassinating the president.”

And so, Waters joins the Leftist-exalted company of Griffin, Jim Carrey, Madonna, Johnny Depp, and countless others of less significance (but who needed some attention) and now the question is, can a sitting US Representative threaten a sitting US president with assassination (and let’s be real here…that’s exactly what she meant by “taking him out”) and not be investigated by the Secret Service as a credible danger?

As pointed out by such people as Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson, among others, it’s not so much that she would be the clear and present danger so much as the crazed half-baked followers of this woman.  She may think lightly of stating that she wants to kill the president, but for her unhinged supporters, will they be more likely to plot this attempt on her behalf?

The Democrats were eager to state that anything negative Trump says about Islam will only embolden terrorists to kill.  They were also quite fond of insinuating that Sarah Palin’s negative remarks about Democrat lawmakers put them in danger after Gabby Gifford was seriously wounded in an assassination attempt.  They wanted to blame Rush Limbaugh and other Right-wing talk radio show hosts for inciting violence against Bill Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama.

Yet, when it comes to one of their own?  “Oh, there’s no evidence that she was actually threatening the president!  And besides, all her followers know she was just being tongue-in-cheek!”

Yes, of course, they do.

Update: Waters responds to the backlash, saying it is ‘absolutely ridiculous’ that she would threaten Trump’s life:
