Massive Protest In NYC Over Police Illegal Chokehold Killing Of Eric Garner

Although the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide, the grand jury still did not indict.

This man was undoubtedly a victim of homicide by the police. Pantaleo could have used a sleeper hold, not a chokehold, which is illegal, and didn’t stop choking Garner even after Garner stated he couldn’t breath and after he was adequately subdued by several officers.

This man was targeted for selling untaxed cigarettes. Not because he was black. This appears to be more of a situation of NYC protecting their cherished tax. He can be heard on camera stating that he’s been harassed multiple times for selling cigarettes.

Ramsey Orta, who was Garner’s friend and video taped the incident, was indicted on a weapons charge when officers claimed that they saw him slip a .25 caliber handgun into a teenage accomplice’s waistband in front of a New York hotel. Orta claims this was a drummed up charge in retaliation for his filming of Garner’s death. Orta’s mother claims that police started following him since Orta made the video.

The New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association issued a statement regarding Orta’s arrest stating, “criminals like Mr. Orta who carry illegal firearms who stand to benefit the most by demonizing the good work of police officers.”

Sound like a veiled threat to anyone thinking of filming the police?
