Massive Comet Once Mistaken for Dwarf Planet Headed to Our Solar System

The Bernardinelli-Bernstein mega comet barreling toward Earth is suppose to pass a reasonably safe distance from Earth, just outside Saturn’s orbit.

As our colleagues over at LiveScience point out, the comet poses no threat to Earth, and its perihelion – its closest approach to the sun – will be at about 11 AU, or 11 times the distance of the Earth from our star. This will put it just outside Saturn’s orbit when it makes its nearest approach in 2031.

The comet is believed to have entered the inner solar system only once before, making it an especially “young” comet in that regard, since it still has so much of its icy material. “It’s very rare to see big comets basically because unless you’re catching it in its first or second passage, most of its material would already be gone,” Bernardinelli told Space.com.

The orbits of all comets are somewhat unpredictable due in part to the gravitational forces of the planets that act on them as they pass through the solar system. So, one would expect that by the time this comet enters our solar system, the force necessary to pull it into the Earth wouldn’t be sufficient enough in the time allotted, or we would know…one might think as a non-astronomer such as myself.

Well….

The International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center announced last Saturday updates on the object dubbed 2014 UN271, saying that the object is unpredictable.

The object’s expected arrival into our inner solar system coincides with the action-packed documentary film Shackled To Silence, produced by Intellihub’s Shepard Ambellas. The one-of-a-kind film brilliantly lays out a case for how COVID-19 might be a guise to usher in further lockdowns as an extinction-level event approaches.

Meg Schwamb, a planetary scientist at Queens University, says that we should expect “fireworks” as the comet comes in.

“Comets are like cats,” she told Gizmodo. “You never know what they’re going to do.”

It could break up, she explained.

Scientists and astronomers are currently trying to learn more about the fastly approaching comet.
construction request put out by a U.K. government agency reveals authorities are gearing up for a mass casualty event. Still, it’s not known if the event is connected to the comet. The six-year “contingency contract” offered by Westminster City Council is for the construction of a “temporary body storage facility to house deceased in the event of an excessive death situation.” The contract covers the “32 London boroughs and the City of London.” It has an estimated value of £6,000,000 and is expected to be completed within a six-month timeframe.

Now that is a quote from Intellhub, a conspiracy site. And chances are good it will remain a ‘theory’…hopefully unlike all the conspiracy theories that have been proven true over the past 20 years, or 20 months…take your pick.

Here’s a video to lower your blood pressure after all that big comet talk.
