Massachusetts State Police Patrol Car Crashes and Burst Into Flames After Coming Under Fire

SkyFOX flew over the scene on Forest Road where police say an officer was checking on a disabled vehicle when he was shot at 3 times. The officer fired back, then crashed and the cruiser caught on fire.

Police say the suspect is a white man who is driving a dark colored, possibly maroon, pickup. They believe he was the only person in the truck and headed toward Medfield. As of about 4 p.m., they were searching in the Medfield, Millis and Norfolk areas, a source told FOX25.

The officer, Sgt William Dwyer, was treated and released from the hospital.

The Millis Public Library is closed as a result of this incident.

It seems that everyday now we are hearing about officers getting shot at. It’s no wonder that sheriffs are stating that police across the country are scared to just do their jobs.

Wicomico County, MD Sheriff Mike Lewis recently made the statements: “It’s open season on law enforcement across this country. American law enforcement right now are under siege” and “Everybody’s scared to death to do their job.”
