That massive animal die-offs are occurring with greater and greater frequency with each passing year is not in dispute. Researchers working for the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reviewed historical records of 727 mass die-offs from 1940 to 2012. Their 2015 report showed that over that time, these events have become more common for birds, marine invertebrates, and fish. The numbers were unchanged for mammals and decreased for amphibians and reptiles.
During the last few years we have seen fish, birds and other animals die in very large numbers. Odd events are occurring, such as huge numbers of birds dropping out of the sky and bees and bats dying in the millions.
Many Christians would undoubtedly say that this is a sign of the end times.
Hosea 4:3 …' Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.'
The book of Hosea doesn't only apply to the nation of Israel – it contains prophecies concerning the state of the world we live in today.
