What reason did Taylor have to run over Rodeman?
Well, according to police reports, Taylor confessed that he had become angry with the slow pace of traffic, so he lashed out:
“He honked his horn and threw an apple core at Lansing Firefighter Dennis Rodeman before driving away, turning around and running down Rodeman in the street.”
Lansing Detective Lee McCallister testified:
“At no time during his conversation did (Taylor) express any remorse. Nor did he ask the condition of the victim.”
I wonder if we should take away all cars, or maybe we should make laws super difficult to obtain one, after all, trucks are killers. Taylor’s mother commented she had tried to have him committed several times, only to be released.
This story tragically outlines the difference between the weapon and the holder of the weapon. It’s also another incident which is so tragic being who the victim is-a man who fought for our freedom, and was now fighting fires for our protection. Taylor will face charges of murder and several other related charges. He will face life in prison if convicted.
