MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow claims that she’s been “meticulously” preparing herself for a Trump presidency. How might she be doing this, you’re probably wondering. She’s studying Adolf Hitler, more specifically, she’s studying the first few months of his reign as German chancellor.
Is it just me, or has Hitler become the standard for political comparison, these days? Both conservatives and liberals are guilty of it, but it would seem that the only way to not get compared to Hitler is by being a complete and total idiot (i.e. Hillary Clinton). Why are people comparing Trump to Hitler, because of his stance on immigration.
There are thousands of other issues facing America, probably more, and people hate Trump strictly based on the fact that he doesn’t want people to break the law and come into America illegally. How does this make sense? These are the people deciding America’s future. They’re like a horde of zombies who feed off of things that offend them.

Marye Gail Harrison I think you have it very wrong suggesting corporations are unconcerned about the quality of their products and safety of their employees.
I worked for large chemical corporation and you are 100% wrong about this. If your products are not competitive in performance and of high quality you will lose business to competitors. That is why corporations invest lots of money in R&D as well as quality control. I presume you have not heard of six Sigma which many companies spend large sums to educate even lower level employees in best manufacturing practices. Decades ago safety was not a hot button item, but now day’s employee safety is a top priority for even low level employees who are expected to undergo safety training as an ongoing requirement for employment. You are unjustly vilifying US corporations whose success depends on high quality products and safe practices by employees as managers and upper management are responsible when things go awry.
You like other liberals just cannot get away from buzzwords like living wage and believe the government in its wisdom can alter dynamics of labor supply and demand by forcing businesses to pay more for labor than it is worth to them. Or in their wisdom alter dynamics of risk and reward which they have failed in subprime mortgages (A Clinton administration invention) which is the root cause of Great Recession and Obamacare which forces more risk on insurers with less reward.
If you personally and others of similar persuasion want to pay more of your income to government to “help” those who choose to game the system, I am sure the government would accept it.
If it were not for the profit makers providing employment opportunities to those who have the requisite skills or training, you would be left with government which does not produce a product. As I said before businesses are not started to provide employment. Increased employment opportunities is measure of business success at providing products and services consumers need and want.
Sure the government has its role in society, it just boils down to what the left and right’s vision and extent of that role is. You and I have far different visions.
