MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow claims that she’s been “meticulously” preparing herself for a Trump presidency. How might she be doing this, you’re probably wondering. She’s studying Adolf Hitler, more specifically, she’s studying the first few months of his reign as German chancellor.
Is it just me, or has Hitler become the standard for political comparison, these days? Both conservatives and liberals are guilty of it, but it would seem that the only way to not get compared to Hitler is by being a complete and total idiot (i.e. Hillary Clinton). Why are people comparing Trump to Hitler, because of his stance on immigration.
There are thousands of other issues facing America, probably more, and people hate Trump strictly based on the fact that he doesn’t want people to break the law and come into America illegally. How does this make sense? These are the people deciding America’s future. They’re like a horde of zombies who feed off of things that offend them.

Well, I gotta say, Michael Ernest, reading this was certainly an insight into the feelings of many Americans. Sadly, I believe the kind of capitalism that Trump and his cabinet believe in is not the old one after WWII that let so many of our families (if we were white) rise in our economic class. Then the gap between the highest paid people in a company and the lowest paid was no where near the inexplicable proportional gap that exists today. Too much of the gap today is financed by national, state and local government tax breaks corporate lobbyists pursue. In the new capitalism that Trump and his friends practice, trickle down isn’t helping the average person rise to a better life, which is why so many are angry. The failure of “trickle down” is the problem for which many people are trying to compensate with government supports like health care for everyone, enough to eat for everyone, and free education of high quality, higher minimum wages, equal human rights for all of us without restriction. WE all want a strong America – whether we are liberals, conservatives, Republicans or Democrats or something else. But the questions that divide us are how to get there. We need to start looking for solutions that really work more for the bottom half of america than the top half. So far the top economic half has not set things up to help the bottom economic half with a few exceptions. Let’s hope we find a few solutions in 2017 without tipping the Earth’s ability to sustain life as we know it and without scapegoating. anyone in the lower economic half.
Should have learned enough from Obama
