Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, is a controversial figure in American social, religious, and political life. Not that that is bad in and of itself. It's nice to have a gadfly or two who keep things stirred up, forcing people to think. The problem is that Farrakhan is an exponent of racism as he agitates for unrest among racial groups. His views on social issues and economics are abhorrent to anyone holding to traditional conservative principles.
With all of that said, politics really does make strange bedfellows, as the old maxim goes. So as Farrakhan tears into Hillary, Trump winds up a beneficiary. As awkward as it is to say it, Farrakhan actually makes good sense in this excerpt from a recent sermon to his congregation:
“My dear brothers and sisters, this is serious,” Farrakhan told his congregation. “Her [Hillary Clinton's] husband and Joe Biden were the authors of the crime bill that put tens of thousands of black brothers and sisters in prison.”
“Mrs. Clinton backed the crime bill and then called our young people super predators. Of course she apologized, but just a minute. See Hitler could’ve said to the Jews after Auschwitz, ‘I’m so sorry.’ Would that be enough to satisfy you?”
“Look at this award that she got,” he continued. “In 2009 Hillary Clinton received the Margaret Sanger Award from Planned Parenthood. It was Mrs. Sanger who advocated population control of black and poor people.”
When Louis Farrakhan is supporting the Republican candidate for president and the Bush family is not, you know that most anything can happen. Like Donald Trump winning the White House. Or Hillary Clinton and her cronies being marched off in handcuffs to “the big house.”
His comments about the election come in at 2hr 19min:
