Continuing to heap criticism on Donald Trump’s calls for a common sense approach to foreign policy that breaks from the mindlessly interventionist policies of previous presidents, Graham suggested that there is a sinister undercurrent to his calls to put “America first”. Although he couched it by saying that he doesn’t “know” what Trump means by the phrase, the meaning – that Trump is an appeaser in the mold of Neville Chamberlain before World War II – is obvious to anyone who hears his comments:
“Graham said, “To the president, if America first is a throwback to the 20’sand 30’s isolationism when it was first used as a phrase, the world would deteriorate even quicker, if it is a new way of Ronald Reagan’s peace through strength I would like to work with him. I don’t know what America first means.”
