Charles Krauthammer of Fox News has long denied Trump’s ability to win the GOP nomination, but it appears as if he’s ever so slightly changing his tun in the face of unmitigated Trump success.
While he — along with most of his media pals — underestimated his leadership ability, this week on Mediabuzz he confessed that he can “no longer deny” that Trump’s appeal has grown to unprecedented levels. Still, he managed to sneak in a biting hit along the way.
I have absolutely no animus against him as a person. I have no reason to. Had he not become a presidential candidate, I mean, I don’t talk about him otherwise. I just think he out of his depths and while obviously he’s a good candidate — and maybe he will win — although I’d be surprised — I think he’d be very bad for the country. That’s the only criteria by which I judge him.
While Krauthammer is obviously still no fan, he’s clearly come a long way from the outright denial that has plagued him and so much of the media. With eight months to go before the primary season, theres still plenty of time for Trump to turn the media. It may sound unfathomable, but so was his chances with the GOP, and now he’s on his way to victory.
