45 year-old Steve Mitchell of the UK was not pleased when he traveled to a KFC in Derby only to find out that the restaurant did not carry the bacon box meal he wanted because it was not halal, in other words, acceptable for practicing Muslims to eat.
This was an especially unwelcome surprise for Mitchell as he had seen a KFC poster nearby specifically advertising the meal and not mentioning the fact that that particular location only carried halal food. It was only after driving an extra four miles to a separate branch of the restaurant that Mitchell was able to get the meal he desired.
