Kasich: Illegal Immigrants are “a critical part of our society”

Suddenly John Kasich is sounding less a conservative republican and more progressive in his views on immigration.

He said,

“For those that are here that have been law abiding, God bless them,” he told the business group, which is a major advocate for expanded immigration.

“Then I think the [illegals] should have a path to legalization… I think that can pass,” Kasich said, using one of the euphemisms for granting legal residency to illegal immigrants.

Kasich said to the coalition of Hispanic businessmen that he desires to expand the guest worker program.  This stance is very unpopular among Republicans and will result in withdrawn support.

Brietbart reports,

Currently the nation annually imports roughly 700,000 short-term guest-workers — plus 1 million legal immigrants, a few hundred thousand additional short-term workers and roughly 350,00b0 lower-skilled illegal workers — to compete for jobs against the roughly 4.5 million Americans who turn 18 each year.

That certainly cuts into the job opportunities for those entering the work force or those who have been laid off and needing to find a means to support themselves and their families.

Another frightening fact that Kasich is not sharing or perhaps factoring into his pro-immigration position is the ratio of immigrant to US born.

But a recent study by Pew projects that between 2015 and 2065, immigration will add seven new people for every one net U.S. birth produced by today’s population– a ratio of seven-to-one.

Today, about nine out of every ten green cards are given to immigrants from Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Will every seven immigrants assimilate, learn the language, become civic minded, celebrate the American experiment or will they refuse to become American and staunchly stand in their own culture while taking the benefits of this great nation?

Kasich needs to clarify his stance or be prepared to pay the piper.
