Justin Timberlake Apologizes for “Appropriating” Black Culture

Easily offended, the BLM group and Jessie William’s Twitter followers freaked out over a tweet meant to praise Williams for his speech at the 2016 BET Awards. Thick skin is something those in the entertainment industry is lacking and Justin Timberlake should have stood by his tweet and not apologized for much ado about nothing.

But the black supporters of Jessie Williams lashed out at Timberlake’s whiteness and told him in so many words that he needs to leave their culture alone.  Williams blamed “whiteness” for all his people’s woes, that apparently are still as bad as slavery. This is what Timberlake found “inspired”.

Justin Timberlake apologized Sunday night for praising actor Jessie Williams’ pro-Black Lives Matter speech at the 2016 BET Awards after critics accused the pop singer of “appropriating” black culture.

Grey’s Anatomy star Williams used his BET Humanitarian Award acceptance speech to denounce “whiteness,” which the actor accused of taking black culture and profiting from it.

An “inspired” Timberlake sent out a laudatory tweet at Williams to his own 55 million Twitter followers.

So does this mean you’re going to stop appropriating our music and culture? And apologize to Janet too. #BETAwards

@jtimberlake inspired to do what? Continue to emulate black culture through your music while ignoring issues affecting black people?

@jtimberlake@iJesseWilliams Did you like the part when Jesse talked about white people stealing from us? That should resonate with you.
