If you watched President Obama’s final State of the Union address, you were probably one of the many who spent most of it scratching their heads in confusion. Clearly the president is living in alternate reality, either that, or he has some kind of medical condition where he sees everything as the opposite of what it actually is.
On a night when ten Navy sailors were being held captive in an Iranian prison, the president declared the United States to be the most powerful nation in the world . . . period. He then went on to say that nobody dares to attack us. He makes this statement immediately after Iran captures our vessels and sailors. This will surely become a historic joke.
The next lie President Obama tried to spread was one that revolved around his embarrassing attempts at a nuclear treaty with Iran. After drafting a treaty that was wildly unpopular with people on both sides of the aisle, and after the failure of that treaty, Obama still boasted that his administration was responsible for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran. If reports coming out of Russia are correct, Iran is still very much armed with nuclear weapons.
Find out if the president mentioned the ten soldiers on the next page.

Yes, it was obvious by looks on their faces during the speech
I know, not one word.
I can understand why you might think Obama is a great president. He’s been the only one for the majority of your young life. Maybe you’ll have a different perspective once you get some life experience and away from the liberal indoctrination systems our schools have become. Obama has decimated our military (now the smallest it has been since pre WWII). Here’s another reason the joint chiefs likely didn’t react to that statement, because their advice and wisdom has consistently been dismissed by the Obama administration. He’s full of hot air.
Btw, you may not have noticed since your parents are still paying for everything, but our economy has not been “lifting strongly” from recession. We are in fact on the verge of slipping into another recession (arguably regressing back into the same recession after a failed recovery).
What country do they think can attack and defeat us ? If 600 billion a year on our military isn’t enough for them, fire their incompetent asses.
George Bush was president when that happened, 9/11/2001.
I have to disagree. My whole family is conservative and I dispute and dispute. I notice that the south clings to traditional values that aren’t being taken, but conservative politicians envoke fear in them and follow made up motives that their competitional politicians are doing, the liberals. In schools, many teachers are smart, and many happen to be liberal. Some are conservative. Yes, my lifetime was long enough to gain understanding of the Bush administration and then contrast it with the Obama administration. Besides that, history is a required study in school. In which I learn about people like Abraham Lincoln and Roosevelt. And they are liberal as well. Clinton did wonders. No, I know that ideologies can change with age, as it can with you, it’s all about relevance. My main point was that Obama has been demonized when he is really a sharp, nice, funny, and reputable guy. He’s done many good things, and the economy is getting better. Considering the collapse is hard ro steady out. This administration has straightened it out significantly, and shows lifing in the very near future if all stays constant. Have a good life, Cliff. I know different perspectives seem like poison, but I won’t view you the same you do me, I will respect and consider your view. Goodbye
Actually, they never show a response. It’s to keep them from appearing to favor one party over another.
I appreciate the respectful and well written response. That is truly a characteristic that is lacking in younger generations. For the record, I am neither from the south nor what I would consider a conservative. I place myself as a moderate but tend to lean conservative as they usually seem, marginally, “less crazy”. Fear mongering is not a uniquely conservative tactic. Politicians on the left have compared Donald Trump to$#%&!@*and repeatedly present that all immigrants and Muslims would be deported if he was president despite that he has said nothing to that extent.
I do not truly believe that you could understand the Bush administration. It appears you are in high school so for argument sake I will assume you are a senior and turn 18 this year. That would put you around 10 when Bush Jr left the office. Even at 18 there is so much to life that you have not seen that would not give you full perspective. At 10, there is no way. Even if you regularly watched the news (all incredibly biased in one direction or the other) at best you would have a passing glance into what was happening and how it actually impacted the country. This is not an insult, just a reality.
Have they also taught you in school that liberalism and conservatism as it stands today resembles nothing of what it was at the time of Lincoln? Have they taught you how Cuba was a thriving country until it adopted socialism? The cause of the collapse of the USSR? That crime and poverty rates in black communities are higher now than they were in the 50’s? And I am curious what you have been taught that tells you Clinton did wonders for America. The most notable achievement of his presidency was being the second president in history to be impeached.
Obama may be a sharp, nice, and funny guy. These do not make a good leader or president. He has been demonized for his lack of leadership. His flagship policy, Obamacare, is a disaster. I am even in support of nationalized healthcare (happy to share a detailed, thought based, explanation as to why). Insurance premiums are higher than ever. The economy has not recovered. Workforce participation is at a low (do not be fooled by taking their unemployment numbers. There is an important difference between the two). The stock market has been flooded with cash from the federal reserve to keep it afloat. American oil companies are being driven out of business by the United Arab Oil Emirates while clueless citizens celebrate low oil prices as an Obama success. Our military is the smallest and weakest it has been since before WWII with the least respected commander in chief in my lifetime. None of these are positives. Completely honest, I would love to have Clinton back in office over Obama. In Obamas first term, we shut down our NASA shuttle program and now pay Russia to launch our astronauts (we pay more per launch than it cost us to launch them ourselves). His Green Energy program closed the sites of some 50 nuclear reactors being built (some 30-40,000 jobs lost among plant workers and construction workers) in favor of his “alternative energy companies” that all went bankrupt.
Do I think he is a bad guy? No, just another failed president. To quote one of my favorite sayings, “the path to hell is paved with good intentions”. You seem like a bright kid with a full life ahead of you. I will give you the best piece of advise that has lead me well over the years. Never take anything at face value. Always ask why, from everyone and for everything. If someone tells you something interesting, don’t just believe them. Go find out for yourself and found out even more. I think you’ll find that both sides of our political system are full of it lol. Best of luck!
People die. Gory. People beg for their lives, then get mercilessly slaughtered. people live in poverty. There are places that are not near as advanced as they should be, so many places it’s hard to fathom. People in these places are on a different reality, twisted realities in our eyes. Killing is justified, usual, and typical in many places, as well as theft. It’s sad. There are people who can’t have empathy. There are people who can’t fathom lives like that. But i do.
Corruption is endless in power, even checked and balanced power. Politicians are not all like that, there have been many to abuse and there are probably 25% abusing such powers in our government. Money feeds. I am a pure empath. I understand these things very well. It turns out, that i lean to liberal ideology. I’m halfway between moderate and liberal. I’ve seen all the demonizing propaganda on Obama, and used to believe it. But i got suspicious, looked up legitimate stats, and it turns out, eight what he’s been given, he’s went above and beyond what an average would’ve done.
I respect your spot on the spectrum, by the way
Yes, I understand the gas prices, because my dad works in the oil industry. He travels all over the world and the released sanctions and Arab oil are taking a huge toll. I believe we should invest in solar energy and more healthy outlets.
