Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”

By removing these statues, it is like slavery NEVER existed….
Should not all the building, monuments and plaques that have be name after Senator Robert Byrd be removed?

I’ve watched foreign countries artifacts and histories being obliterated in the senseless anger of one group against an other. Removing history from view doesn’t change the facts. The hope may be that one day all people will think alike, act alike, and be brainwashed alike but so long as we tell the truth from generation to the next of man’s awesome humanity and inhumaities, can we learn from the past.
