Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”

Isn’t that denial when you hide something? Isn’t that happening with the holocaust also? Hate to tell these bright people but he was a Representative and Senator for Mississippi so are they going to strike his name from books because of the same thing. Will they plead to destroy everything including his military record with the United States Army or the fact he fought in the Mexican American war or better yet strike the fact he was the 23rd US Secretary of War. This has gone too far! This is a new phase we are going through and 10 years from now if not sooner we will admit it was ludicrous! I keep hearing the civil war was fought because of slavery but my question “is if it was do you mean there were more than 1.5 million slave owners?” The war was fought because the North had machinery the South couldn’t afford and money wasn’t being shared by banking in loans. Combined with the fact the south was also going through a severe drought!
What happened to the state of Texas? They used to have balls.

Isn’t it sad what this country has turned into. I don’t care what happened years ago in our country,it is a part of our history. Maybe we should tear down the White House for what our politicians have done in the last decade..
