Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”

The civil war was not fought over slavery, it was originally fought over the northern states trying to force their opinions and their way of life onto the southern states, It then evolved into slavery. The north had slaves just like the south and if they truly wanted slavery gone, then they would have freed every last one of their slaves prior to the war, but they didn’t. the northern states didn’t free all of their slaves until 2 years after the civil war, but yet all kids are taught is that the south was the only one who had slaves. Wake up and educate yourself.
