Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”

What about all the streets with their names on them all over the country? In Florida, Old Dixie Highway was recently changed to President Barack Obama. Shouldn’t that be taken down and/or changed back to what it was?

Deeming these statues Racist and then Removing these statues from the public’s eye is accomplishing nothing more than regression… Yes, you can remove them, but it still doesnt change our History (be it good or bad) it just masks our History…And Why in the world would anyone want to mask it?!!! Hell NO, It needs to be told and exposed… otherwise it just dummies down our future generations, because nobody’s learning from our past generations mistakes anymore! And that’s a damn shame… knowledge of our past History (good or bad) should be present to all … so that our future History makers dont repeat the very mistakes made by our past. Sad to clearly see that in 2016 our History is regressing …
Perhaps if we remove the history of slavery it will come back and that will be a good thing…
