Sex Slaves Part of Jihad
The fatwa goes on to suggest that a Muslim slave owner who owns mother and daughter may have sex with one but not both of them, and a son may not have sex with his father’s female slaves, nor the father with the son’s female slaves. There is an extensive list of other directives on how female slaves may or may not be treated, primarily regarding sexual conduct with captives.
It is especially intriguing that the fatwa purports to establish “rules of conduct” when reports from the field would indicate that rules are anything but ordered and compassionate. Some recent reporting includes the following:
The Islamic State has come under fire repeatedly for its sexual abuse of female captives, a practice integral to its specific form of terrorism.
In recent testimony before the United Nations Security Council, Yazidi survivor Nadia Murad Basee Taha described in detail the horrendous treatment she endured as a sex slave to the Islamic State.
“Rape was used to destroy women and girls and to guarantee that these women could never lead a normal life again,” she declared. The jihadists raped Taha until she passed out.
In October, a young Yazidi woman, known only as Noor, told CNN that the ISIS fighters justified raping her because the action would make her Muslim.
“He showed me a letter and said, ‘This shows any captured women will become Muslim if 10 ISIS fighters rape her.’ There was a flag of ISIS and a picture of [ISIS leader] Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi,” she said.
The best thing that could happen is to have this subsection of Islam wiped off the face of the earth. Their brand of Islam is a blight to all of civilization, and as outrage is piled upon additional outrage, it becomes more apparent that there is no possible way to bring this group into modern society.
Rather the best option would be to annihilate at least the leadership and perhaps a goodly portion of the body in order to purge Islam of this cancer that purports to represent the “true” Islam. The question is if modern civilization is willing to recognize the true nature of this throwback to 7th century, and to take action accordingly.
