Brian Williams either has an amazing poker face or no sense of irony. During an on-air report on MSNBC, Williams criticized the prevalence of fake news in 2016. At no point did he seem to acknowledge the fact that he had been making up news for over a decade before being fired from NBC.
Why did he get fired? For fabricating stories, of course.
