On Thursday, U.S. and Iranian officials confirmed that under the new agreement, nuclear inspectors from America will be specifically barred from examine the country’s contested nuclear site.
Only countries with what is referred to as ‘normal’ diplomatic relations with Iran will be allowed into inspections teams organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Objectors maintain that only American experts can actually be trusted to verify that Iran is not cheating on the deal and will in fact operate secret nuclear facilities.
No kidding!
The admission is the latest in a series of apparent concessions made by the United States to Iran under the deal. Other portions of the agreement include a promise by the United States to help Iran combat nuclear sabotage and threats to its program.
“Iran will increase the number of designated IAEA inspectors to the range of 130-150 within 9 months from the date of the implementation of the JCPOA, and will generally allow the designation of inspectors from nations that have diplomatic relations with Iran, consistent with its laws and regulations,” the deal states, according to text released by the Russians and Iranians.
Susan Rice, President Obama’s national security adviser, confirmed this in an interview with CNN.
“There are not going to be independent American inspectors separate from the IAEA” on the ground in Iran, Rice said. “The IAEA will be doing the inspections on behalf of the U.S. and the rest of the international community.”
Rice said that the Obama administration trusts those countries whose relations with Iran are normalized to carry out inspections of the Islamic Republic’s sensitive nuclear sites.
“The IAEA, which is a highly respected international organization will field an international team of inspectors, and those inspectors will in all likelihood come from IAEA member states, most of whom have diplomatic relations with Iran,” Rice said. “We of course are a rare exception.”
Elliott Abrams, a former White House National Security Council director under George W. Bush, criticized the administration for consenting to Iranian demands.
“It’s ironic that after Wendy Sherman told us about how Kerry and Zarif had tears in their eyes thinking about all they had accomplished together, we learn that the Islamic Republic won’t allow one single American inspector,” Abrams said, referring to John Kerry and Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister. “No member of the P5+1 [negotiating team] should be barred, and this is another example of how badly the administration negotiated.”
“We should have insisted that the ‘no Americans’ rule was simply unacceptable,” Abrams said. “But there was no end to U.S. concessions.”
One American source who was present in Vienna for the talks said the ban on all U.S. inspectors is the result of Iranian demands in the negotiating room.

Meanwhile, we just had an admission by the Obama administration admit that the $150 billion Iran will get in sanctions relief is without any oversight…they can simply use it to sponsor terrorism.
It’s amazing how many folks don’t get it. If I want to sit at the big boy table what would I need? If I’m a sovereign country, who are you to tell me I can’t sit there with you? Unless your goal is to oppress and dominate and not treat all the peoples of the world as equals.
Okay, I’ll admit that Donald Trump has a big ego, but to me, his self confidence is part of his charm. Can you even imagine a guy like that accepting a bad deal from another country, or letting a political group or lobby push him around? It’s just not going to happen. We all know the Donald knows exactly how to use the system in order to get what he wants. Wouldn’t you just love to see him with the power of the United States Government behind him, negotiatiating on our behalf? He says that he will get Mexico to pay for a wall along our southern border, and I believe him. I can see him organizing huge infrastructure programs, building roads and bridges, and putting hundreds of thousands of Americans back to work. He could replace Obamacare with a program which actually works, and negotiate with healthcare providers to not only keep the costs down, but which would also save Social Security and Medicare at the same time. Or… we could elect Hillary Clinton, and end up bankrupt like Greece. The choice seems pretty obvious to me. A loudmouth financial genius, or a lying, incompetent old lady. And since Hillary’s already been subpoenaed to testify in front of the RICOH committee in January, she may be finished anyway. I’m proud to say that I’m voting for Donald Trump.
