Iranians Seek to Humiliate the U.S.
Early on when the Iranians detained the U.S. sailors, rather than treating the incident as a vessel in distress, the Iranian military forces held the sailors at gunpoint and forced them to put their hands on their heads and kneel in submission before the capturing forces. They then quickly Iran published the photographs as a way to show their primacy and strength, allowing them to cow the U.S. military and to make them submit to the superior power of Iran.
It was clearly a public relations statement designed to humiliate and embarrass the U.S. and the navy sailors themselves. It was NOT the type of thing a country would release to indicate respect for the other force. Obama and Kerry were simply wrong, Iran was showing not that there was a new agreement and respect between the two countries, but that they had won and the U.S. is nothing more than a paper tiger, powerless before the mighty Iranian military.
Iran has now released new photos from the incident, coming after the fact so that they can extend the humiliation.
Iran has released new photographs in which at least one of the recently captured U.S. sailors is crying, according to a series of the pictures posted on social media.
The pictures, as well as an accompanying video, were released by Iranian state-controlled news outlets and disseminated on Twitter by Iranian reporters early Wednesday.
The Obama administration, including Secretary of State John Kerry, has praised and thanked Iran for the way it treated the captured sailors, who were released by Iranian authorities the following morning.
It is clear that the Obama administration has been one of the most politically clueless and inept organizations in the history of the U.S. Obama began his presidency by declaring that he would sit down and “reason” with our enemies and find ways to bring us closer together. Instead, he has driven American prestige into the ground, allowed tin pot nations like Iran to embarrass and humiliate us, has allowed Russia to rise up and take over large swaths of territory by naked belligerence, and has turned the Middle East into a giant mess made worse by Muslim terrorist groups that he either will not or cannot effectively deal with.
This latest incident is one that reminds us that as a world leader the U.S. must show strength and determination when dealing with countries like Iran. We also should have recognized that a “community organizer” is certainly not ready for the presidency of the United States, and the question now is, will it be possible to regain our stature and respect after Obama is gone, or is it gone for good?
