Inside Deal: FBI Investigators are Being Forbidden from Discussing Clinton Investigation

FBI Director James Comey may have  had the authority to ultimately decide whether or not to recommend charges against Hillary Clinton, but it seems clear he didn’t have the full backing of those conducting the investigation. If he did, he likely wouldn’t be trying so hard to silence them after the fact.

In an unusual move, FBI agents working the Hillary Clinton email case had to sign a special form reminding them not to blab about the probe to anyone unless called to testify.

Sources said they had never heard of the “Case Briefing Acknowledgment” form being used before, although all agents must initially sign nondisclosure agreements to obtain security clearance.

“This is very, very unusual. I’ve never signed one, never circulated one to others,” said one retired FBI chief.

This should come as no surprise. While Comey claimed that “no reasonable prosecutor” would take up a case against Hillary Clinton, he likely didn’t anticipate that sixty percent of Americans would disagree. Chances are, there are a few prosecutors and FBI investigators among them.
