The Trump administration seems to be wasting no time getting its financials in order. Just a few weeks into Donald Trump’s term, Trump tweeted that the debt had been lowered by $60 billion. Reports are also circulating that Trump’s first budget will oversee the largest reduction of the federal workforce since WWII.
So we know how Trump plans to save money. But how will he make it?
He certainly doesn’t seem to be willing to raise taxes very much. While he has suggested that he might be okay with a small tax increase on the rich, most of the government’s extra income seems contingent on a growing economy, not higher tax rates.
But that’s not their only plan.
The Trump Administration also seems to be eyeing unpaid debts held by foreign governments — some going back half a century.

Indignation? Why they should have paid it long ago. That’s why we shouldn’t be lending/funding money to any countries because they don’t pay. Why didn’t they ask for this money long ago? I’ll bet there are other countries that owe us money. We should get money back from Iran that Obama illegal gave to them.
Bruce Sanderson-Nice Lie. NO ONE ever said that putting it the banks would have earned more. Nobody.
Mark Lokken But never tired of showing you ignorance
Charles Robinson I learned enough in my lifetime to know you are full of BS. My alarm went off when I read your pompous post.
Steve Kostan I stand corrected – some what. I should have said that if he would have simply invested it in index funds, he would be better off. Bottom line still doesn’t change, nor my conclusion. He is not the business man that he claims to be, or what his simpleminded, hypocritical devotees foolishly believe.
Here is one of MANY articles.

Mark Lokken Yet, you seem not to be tired of showing your ignorance and bigotry. Trump would be proud of you.
Good job Mr. President. The world uses the USA as a spoiled child would living off of the parents while they work and make good money. They treat their parent(s) with disdain. They now have to pay rent, and they owe back rent with interest. We, the American people are not the caregivers of the world. The working people want to have an easier life. The check drawing, tax paying Americans are taxed at about 1/4th – 1/3rd of their paycheck before they get it. With what is left, EVERYTHING we purchase is taxed by state and municipal taxes. If we manage to save a dollar, that is taxed. If we manage to save any when we die, the politicians want that or at the very least to tax it again!!! The politicians, on every level from the local to state to federal are all doing well. It is time to have congress receive no pay, no benefits, no personal expenditures, until they have brought the country out of debt, the educational system fixed, SS money is replaced and I could go on. The working people are the ones getting screwed. Poor, you live off the working people. Politician, you live off of the working people. The host is about dead.
His company employs 38,000 people and had 9.5 billion in revenue in 2015. Sounds like a total failure lol!
