The Trump administration seems to be wasting no time getting its financials in order. Just a few weeks into Donald Trump’s term, Trump tweeted that the debt had been lowered by $60 billion. Reports are also circulating that Trump’s first budget will oversee the largest reduction of the federal workforce since WWII.
So we know how Trump plans to save money. But how will he make it?
He certainly doesn’t seem to be willing to raise taxes very much. While he has suggested that he might be okay with a small tax increase on the rich, most of the government’s extra income seems contingent on a growing economy, not higher tax rates.
But that’s not their only plan.
The Trump Administration also seems to be eyeing unpaid debts held by foreign governments — some going back half a century.
Read about how the U.S. is demanding repayment for Cambodian bombings on the next page:
Don’t forget Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
A debt is a debt TIME TO COLLECT!
On its face, seems outragious, but I do agree, any foreign debt owed to us, depending on circumstances, should be paid. Do not we just go back to , was it world War 2, or one of our previous wars, and try to take back “bonus*s), we paid to our own veterans.?
This reads like it was written for a 5th grade English essay. Wow the typos on even basic words makes me rethink sending my kids to school.
Kennedy was he was assassinated for trying to get rid of IRS Ronald Reagan was Eisenhower Roosevelt Jefferson Washington. But you know America is a business so makes sense a business man makes best presidents same with military. Career politicians become corrupt cause they all are lawyers and Lawyers don’t care how they win the jury over as long as they get their way.
Biggest mistake of American people made was allowing the government to teach our kids.
Only Real Question “HOW DO WE COLLECT” ?
Good luck getting these countries to pay..
Trump obviously feels that if you owe the money, pay it! Our new president is looking out for the revenue owed to America to build infrastructure, the Wall, rebuild our military, and to do that you cut expenses, and collect debts owed – might try looking into those IRS employees who owe so much back taxes, get them on pay plans! He is going through each department and reducing government employees and costs where not necessary. BRAVO, PRESIDENT TRUMP! With your efforts and that of your cabinet members and staffers, we might just be able to get things done without any large tax hike and get the $20 trillion debt starting to be chipped away on.
Well said, Janice! My feelings exactly. He has already started with his cabinet members cutting unnecessary employees and expenses in each department, you can see the start of it in the new budget being submitted. He is gathering revenues for the Wall, rebuilding the military, infrastructure, etc. It CAN be done.
