The Trump administration seems to be wasting no time getting its financials in order. Just a few weeks into Donald Trump’s term, Trump tweeted that the debt had been lowered by $60 billion. Reports are also circulating that Trump’s first budget will oversee the largest reduction of the federal workforce since WWII.
So we know how Trump plans to save money. But how will he make it?
He certainly doesn’t seem to be willing to raise taxes very much. While he has suggested that he might be okay with a small tax increase on the rich, most of the government’s extra income seems contingent on a growing economy, not higher tax rates.
But that’s not their only plan.
The Trump Administration also seems to be eyeing unpaid debts held by foreign governments — some going back half a century.
Read about how the U.S. is demanding repayment for Cambodian bombings on the next page:
We are owed money from as far back as world war 2 and before.
Mark F. Walker trump didn’t bomb them
I didn’t proof read any comments. It’s the article that needs proof reading. And I did read the content, which is why I commented what I did below. Good content can be delivered with good English and grammar.
Just a measly 662 million dollars, that’s practically nothing. That would only pay for 2 new high schools in my little$#%&!@*hole town.Seriously the city of Sherman,Tx. wants just over 300 million dollars to build a new HS and do some repairs on a couple of the existing schools! Is it just me or is it like outrageously expensive to build a school. Are they going to build it out of pure silver,or is someone or several someone’s getting a hell of a kickback out of this$#%&!@*!
If someone were to total it up, I wonder what the US would owe in war reparations to Cambodia AND Laos?
Successful? Really? He inherited his fathers money, and people who know, say that if he would have just put it in the bank drawing simple interest he would be better off today than he is now. AND…how many time has he filed for bankruptcy? And… why does he – as is believed could easily be proven if he were to produce his tax returns – owe so much money to Russia and China for having to bail him out financially because no american banks would loan the guy any money?
Including him? Let trump lead by example by paying the people HE owes. What if any country owing the U.S. just says they’re “not happy with the quality of service they received so they’re not going to pay?” that’s how trump justified not paying people he owes.
Just pay the bill and quit talking your$#%&!@*.
How about we STOP ALL FOREIGN AID until we erase our National DEBT? After that, then we can consider helping countries that HATE US.
This isn’t business, it is international affairs and diplomacy. Each generally is ignorant of the other. PS, international affairs and diplomacy is not business, at least not when I took Histroy of U.S. Diplomacy at the U. of Washington. The apparent fact we have 45 who doesn’t understand this should concern all in the U.S. regardless of political persuasion.
