The Trump administration seems to be wasting no time getting its financials in order. Just a few weeks into Donald Trump’s term, Trump tweeted that the debt had been lowered by $60 billion. Reports are also circulating that Trump’s first budget will oversee the largest reduction of the federal workforce since WWII.
So we know how Trump plans to save money. But how will he make it?
He certainly doesn’t seem to be willing to raise taxes very much. While he has suggested that he might be okay with a small tax increase on the rich, most of the government’s extra income seems contingent on a growing economy, not higher tax rates.
But that’s not their only plan.
The Trump Administration also seems to be eyeing unpaid debts held by foreign governments — some going back half a century.

Whatever. Make them at and use the money to solve some problems here
Get over it. He is a great patriot.
The crybaby Liberals always ignore all evidence that doesn’t fit their hateful version of things.
Exactly. John gets it. Couldn’t have said that better myself.
Funny you accuse me of drinking the kool-aid, though. That’s more of a liberal thing. Like I said, go on back to your pathetic liberal bubble, put on some CNN, and drink up. Meanwhile, I’ll be here – employing general critical thinking abilities, and pointing out the idiocy of others like you. Lord knows there’s enough idiocy going around the Democrat party after this past election. It’s kind of sad, really.
All the countries in the world who have owed the US repayment of loans need to pay up. The Chinese and Japanese owe us more than what we have borrowed. It cancels our debt to them. The same goes with Russia. In actuality, if all those debts are collected, we would have quite an infusion of assets.
That’s exactly what he will do, Charlie Oliver. They don’t need our money in Saudi Arabia. All of these oil rich countries are more than capable of taking care of their people.
At least 1.6 billion on the day they released our four hostages. Uh, but it wasn’t ransom. Pure coincidence. SMH
China holds approx 500 billion in us debt. If they collected it, it would destroy there economy and ours. They would print it right up and its value would drop.
The premise of the story is wrong. The Federal government doesn’t make money. It takes money out of the economy. In this case it wants to take money out of the Cambodian economy to recover a debt owed to the US.
Yep, no more free rides.
