The Trump administration seems to be wasting no time getting its financials in order. Just a few weeks into Donald Trump’s term, Trump tweeted that the debt had been lowered by $60 billion. Reports are also circulating that Trump’s first budget will oversee the largest reduction of the federal workforce since WWII.
So we know how Trump plans to save money. But how will he make it?
He certainly doesn’t seem to be willing to raise taxes very much. While he has suggested that he might be okay with a small tax increase on the rich, most of the government’s extra income seems contingent on a growing economy, not higher tax rates.
But that’s not their only plan.
The Trump Administration also seems to be eyeing unpaid debts held by foreign governments — some going back half a century.
Read about how the U.S. is demanding repayment for Cambodian bombings on the next page:
An expanding economy will pay for a lot of things….Duh
Yeah right, that’s all the United States does is bomb and rape other countries!….You people need to get a life…No matter what he does you will complain!…and the other guy was right!…That’s why we are in such debt!….
If I miss a mortgage payment or 2 my house will be up foreclosure enough. But century’s damm….who has that kinda of credit?
You know you can get a lobster dinner in Cambodia for like 2 dollars right? What you bitching about?
Come on Claude Dies…it’s more like no matter what Trump does “you people” will think he’s Mr. Wonderful. If someone does or says something stupid, I call it stupid. I never claimed anything other than this particular move deserved such a label. I never made claims beyond this…nothing about America only bombing and raping other countries. And if the debt is such a concern for Trump, why doesn’t he stop giving billions to Saudi Arabia and Israel every year? Don’t just blindly follow anyone chief. Think for yourself.
Remember what we did for you a while back? Pay up, now. Been waiting 50years. I want my money now!!
Could have hired a homeless penniless person who never made a Dime. .guess
They weren’t being defended by the US…..just bombed. Should we pay Japan for the bombs they dropped on Pearl Harbor?
I know…so I suppose we should pay Japan for the bombs they dropped on Pearl Harbor? The only thing that’s harder for me to believe than Trump pushing this is the amount of people saying, “it’s about time”.
Not to mention that Cambodia is a dirt poor country. Old landmines (dating back to the 60’s and 70’s conflicts) are still an ongoing problem for them that they cannot afford to deal with.
