Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has announced that, starting in 2015, new food stamp applicants that are “able bodied” and don’t have children must work at least 20 hours, or be in job training, to receive food stamps.
Other states are considering re-instituting the requirement, like Maine and New Mexico, after it was waved following the financial crisis in 2008.

I guess ya’ll forgot that the economy is tettering on the edge of total collapse and jobs are hard to come by…. Just sayin. I do support this measure though.
YES.
Jobs aren’t hard to come by. Good jobs are hard to come by.
How can you truth these criminal thieves ?
good luck with this!
Good move!
In the 70’s and 80’s to collect any type of assistance in Ca you had to attend workshops and actively job search. Why is this being vilefied so badly? What is wrong with trying to better yourselfworth? Even if you cant find a job to completely get off assistance you would be contributing something… why cant the govt open supervised daycare for the people who re on assistance but not working to watch the children of the ones who are low income and cant afford it. That was the biggest block for me as a single parent. Could be a workable solution.
How nice.,,are you providing the jobs at a pay above poverty level?
As it should be, the real americans would want it this way it hurts our pride to take hand outs its just not our way of life. Liberals will not understand this because they don’t have pride or a conscience.
