President Obama once again put his foot in his mouth right before an outbreak of Islamist terror.
Just hours before the tragic San Bernardino shootings occurred this Wednesday, Obama finished taping an interview for CBS in which he reassured viewers that Americans were safe from terror attacks. Speaking with host Nora O'Donnell, Obama firmly asserted that “[W]e have hardened our defenses, our homeland has never been more protected by more effective intelligence and law enforcement professionals at every level than they are now.” This of course, was said just before Syed Farooq and Tashfeen Malik embarked on their rampage at the San Bernardino Inland Regional Center.
Moments after the massacre unfolded, the White House went into damage control mode, granting CBS more time with the president so that he could address the shooting. He added caveats to his previous remarks that attacks still could happen regardless of the measures taken to prevent them.
