Steven Camarota is the Director of Research for the Center for Immigration Studies says, “Two decades after welfare reform tried to curtail immigrant welfare use, immigrant households are using most programs at higher rates than natives.”
The findings of this study are extremely important if we as a nation are to recover economically as well as shrink the government.
“If immigration is supposed to benefit the country, then immigrant welfare use should be much lower than native use,” Steven Camarota the CIS’s Director of Research and the report’s author said.
So what should be done in regard to welfare reform, as the last attempt seems to have exacerbated the issue. We are a nation of immigrants and place to pursue the American dream, yet without skilled immigrants coming into the country, welfare will remain high.
“The low-skill level of many immigrants means that although most work, many also access welfare programs. If we continue to allow large numbers of less-educated immigrants to settle in the country, then immigrant welfare use will remain high,” he added.
The report further highlights that while immigrant-headed households use welfare at a higher rate than natives they also pay taxes at a lower rate.

So what is to be done with these findings?
i still think after so many years maybe 1 no more than 3 years everyone that crooses that river should learn ENGLISH AS THE FRIST LANUAGE OF THE USA., they should work like the rest of us, show all the childrens birth cerficates make sure the kids are real and social number are real also make sure they are real not DEACEASED PEOPLE EITHER, that way if they need childcare to work go to work show that u are willing to work and be a memenber of the usa and speak our lanuage ENGLISH.
