CNN’s Tapper Blasts Obama for his Hypocritical Lecturing on Transparency

President Obama lectured the media Monday, telling them that it is their job to hold those in office and those seeking office responsible–a job his own administration has made virtually impossible for the press to do for his administration, as InfoWars discusses:

Recent reports suggest that the Obama administration has failed to respond to almost 130,000 public records requests under the Freedom of Information Act, a new record.

A recent Pro Publica report also noted that “The Associated Press found last year that the administration had set a record for censoring or denying access to information requested under FOIA.”

“The backlog of unanswered requests across the government had risen by 55 percent, to more than 200,000.” the report notes.

Tapper also pointed out that the Obama administration has set new standards for punishing whistleblowers, using the Espionage Act to prosecute more leakers than all other administrations in history COMBINED.

“Maybe, just maybe, your lecturing would be better delivered to your own administration,” Tapper said.

This particular forum, the Toner Awards has a history of being a platform for hypocritical keynote speakers, apparently, as Politico mentions least year’s award ceremony:

A year ago, Hillary Clinton used her Toner award keynote address to call for “new beginnings” with the press, just as news about her use of a private email server was starting to come out.

“No more secrecy, no more zone of privacy — after all what good did that do me,” Clinton said.

Perhaps next year the Toner Awards will invite Bill Cosby to lecture everyone on good date etiquette.
