It’s now legal for men to use women’s bathrooms, showers, and dressing facilities – and vice-versa – thanks to the passing of the Equal Rights Ordinance in Houston, TX.
Mayor Parker, Houston’s first openly gay mayor, called it “most personally meaningful thing I will ever do as mayor.”
The ordinance’s stated goal is to eliminate discrimination in housing and employment for gays, transgenders – 14-characteristics in total – including race, ethnicity, age, religion and disability.

To those who think that this will lead to a rise in sexual harassments and rapes, I’d like to point something out to you. It being illegal has NEVER stopped anyone who actually wanted to do this from doing it. Whereas transgendered people, identifying as female have no intention of doing such things.
Sure I’m sure someone will take advantage of it, but very little was stopping them before.
Let me describe what a transgender woman does in the restroom: she walks in, goes to the stall, and sits just like anyone else. You’d never know
