The Hill: Obama to Re-emerge in ‘Delicate Dance’ with Democrats

Amie Parnes is a writer for The Hill and has apparently had fantasies about her former president that, perhaps, should never be admitted to, especially in mixed company.  If you’re wondering why it is that so many Democrats still believe that Barack Hussein Obama is absent from the political scene and not plotting from his gauche mansion 2 miles away from the White House, you may want to read a bit from Parnes, who is either completely convinced that Obama is MIA or is attempting to hide the fact that she is included in the daily 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. briefings at the Department of Shadowy Endeavors (DSE).

amieparnesThis is the face of the girl who has decided that Barack Hussein Obama is more popular than Jesus!  Yes, he is so popular, in fact, that even LeBron James cannot even think about being spied next to the icon that is Obama due to the overwhelming amount of angelic light that pours forth from his very being!

Former President Barack Obama will reemerge on the national scene this fall, though Democrats expect him to do so with caution.

One aide describes the beginning of a “delicate dance” that aims to put Obama in the Democratic fray but prevents him from remaining the face of the party.

“Prevents him?”  That’s an interesting choice of words.  Just for a moment, try to imagine anyone “preventing” Barack Hussein Obama from doing anything he wants!  The Democrats wouldn’t presume to halt Obama from doing anything he wanted to do simply because they agree with everything he wants to do!  As for the Republicans…they’ve never been able to “prevent” Obama from doing anything either legislatively or extra-Constitutionally!  Heck, even Michelle couldn’t “prevent” him from smoking cigarettes!

And where does this crazy notion spring forth from that imagines that the Democrats DON’T want him to be the face of the party?  Are you kidding me, Amie?  Since the moment he got into Marine One with Michelle and disappeared into the sky over Washington, Obama has been the only person they’ve spoken about, other than Trump and his impending impeachment!  Not be the face of the party?  Go ask Maxine Waters or Nancy Pelosi that question and see what your answer is?

Aides will huddle with Obama in the coming weeks to plot out what shape the former president’s fall schedule will take. Advisers close to him say that while he will play an active role in helping his party rebuild, much of his work will be behind the scenes.

Behind the scenes?  You mean like what has been going on already for the past six months at the DSE?  The Camarilla has been more active than Elizabeth Warren’s Cherokee ancestral spirits at Harvard, for crying out loud!  And why, may I ask, is Parnes treating Obama as if he still requires aids and advisers?  I thought he wasn’t the “face of the party” anymore…

He is likely to take on fundraising, for example, something he has done for the Democratic National Committee and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee since leaving office.

In recent months, Obama has played a larger behind the scenes role than was publicly known.

The Hill reported in July that he met with DNC Chairman Tom Perez as well as lawmakers at his office to give his guidance on a number of issues.

Oh, okay…so he HAS been active in recent months.  I see.  And this “guidance” that you allude to, Parnes…could that be referred to more as, oh, I don’t know…”commands” or “marching orders?”

When Dick Morris two weeks ago uploaded that weblog video about Obama’s Camarilla and the war room he has set up in his mansion in Washington, a lot of people nodded knowingly.  They knew that all this unrest in America and all the protests, action committees, lawsuits, activist judge rulings, etc., were not just spontaneous eruptions.  There was a marked “Astroturf” flavor to the whole shebang.  Not only did all of unrest appear to have the exact same message, but nearly identical wording for all the different issues.  Too many coincidences leads one to the logical conclusion that someone is directing all the different entities in a singular path backward…to the very origins of Regressivism.

Take, for example, Susan Rice this week blasting Donald Trump for his stance on North Korea; you know, advising him to just let them attain a nuclear weapon!  Oh, yeah…real classy stuff, Susan.  Anyway, not hours later did the [surprise, surprise] Secretary General of the United Nations come out to lambaste the president on…what?  Oh yeah, the North Korea provocations by the United States!  You’re seriously telling me that Obama didn’t direct both of those “newsworthy” quotes?  I mean, when your husband is an ABC News Producer, it really is pretty simple to get an interview, right, Susan?

But advisers to the former president acknowledge he also doesn’t want to be “a foil” — as one top ally put it — for President Trump and the Republican leadership.

In recent months, Trump blamed Obama for doing “nothing” about Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election. He also taunted him for never coming to a Boy Scout jamboree and went after his policies on everything from healthcare to Cuba and North Korea.

Obama has chosen to remain silent.

Silent in public maybe?  But if you define silent as dispersing your agents of darkness out to their appointed posts in the Fake News Industrial Complex by day and calling foreign leader buddies (like Angela Merkel, Justin Trudeau, and Hassan Rouhani) by night, then…yes…I guess he has been VERY silent.  So silent, you might even hear the NSA on the other side of the line…

And even during the recent healthcare fight over his signature legislation, for example, he sought to keep a low profile.

So, Leslie Dash, who runs Protect Our Care (which is a rabidly anti-GOP Repeal activist group) who is present on every DSE morning conference call by Valerie Jarrett and Obama, is how he remains in such low profile?  Is it because he has a proxy working for him in that endeavor that makes him so “hands-off?”  You’ll recall, too, that Protect Our Care’s main partner is the Arab Community Council of Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) in Dearborn, Michigan.  They are the ones whose members have run afoul of federal Medicare/Medicaid fraud charges in the past.

“He has to be careful,” said Julian Zelizer, a professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University. “At a moment when President Trump’s approval is falling so fast — including with his base — there is a risk for Obama taking center stage and triggering the energy that many Republicans currently lack.”

Oh, yes, professor, we are all so aware of the myriad of “accurate and unbiased” polling data from sources such as the New York Times and the Washington Post, SurveyMonkey, and Vox!  Yes, we know well that, according to these perfectly “valid and truthful” polls that Republicans the nation over are abandoning Trump in droves!

Like those 3,000 Republicans who just unregistered in the state of Colorado because of Trump…what…oh, right…they were Democrats.  Anyway, there was that Republican governor who just flipped to…huh?  Oh, yeah.  I forgot.  That was a Democrat governor who just flipped to the Republican Party.  Anyway…I’m sure there’s evidence out there somewhere that proves the point that the Republican base is abandoning Trump!  And when we find it, we’ll be sure to bring it to you, forthwith!

“He would be the target against which Trump would direct his fury,” added Cal Jillson, a professor of political science at Southern Methodist University. “From Trump’s perspective nothing better could happen.”

Jillson said that a light Obama footprint on the national stage could allow breathing room for future Democratic leaders to emerge.

“He’ll tread lightly because he is not going to be the face of the party when it actually counts in 2020 and 2024,” Jillson added. “So the extent to which he would emerge and speak to a wide range of issues would preclude the emergence of someone else. They must find a standard-bearer for future elections, and I think he can at least in the short term suck up all the available oxygen.”

So, let me interpret this ridiculous tripe for a moment.  Obama is Midas.  Whatever he touches turns immediately to gold.  Trump, on the other hand, is Nixon, and will be impeached at any moment.  In the meantime, while we’re waiting for said impeachment, Obama, who could easily catapult the Democrats to the lofty heights that he once held with nearly no effort whatsoever, will choose instead to lay back and allow the Democrats to languish and fester?

That’s exactly what they’re saying!  Obama COULD win this for the Party of the Jackass, but because he wants to be leave behind a “light footprint,” he’ll choose to allow them to lose.  I mean, that’s what they’ve been doing (and doing well) for the past eight years, haven’t they?  And it’s been largely thanks to both Barack and Hillary!

This whole notion that Donald Trump has got nothing better to do than to wait around inside the Oval Office, hoping and praying that Obama takes center stage in the Democrat political circles so that the president can then gain popularity amongst his flagging followers is unbelievably laughable.  Truly embarrassing.

To that point, Democrats have also worried about Hillary Clinton’s presence on the national stage.
Clinton is slated to release a book this fall titled “What Happened” in which she is promising to provide candid details on why she thinks she lost the 2016 presidential election.

Democrats are feeling angst about Clinton’s reemergence, worrying that it will point to a party looking backward instead of forward.

It’s wise for both Clinton and Obama to hang back at this point,” one Democratic strategist said. “Otherwise our party will have an even harder time rebounding.

“We already lack a party leader, we lack a vision, we lack an identity,” the strategist said bluntly. “We can’t remain stuck in the past.”

I’m with you there.  No argument at all.  But I’m confused.  In the first part of this article, Parnes is telling us that Obama could basically propel the Democrats into the majority…if he really wanted to…BUT instead, he’s decided to back off and allow the Democrats to hurt themselves politically.

Then, in the next part of the article, you’re suddenly “concerned” that Obama might make an appearance?  This defies logic, Parnes?  Did you editor not notice the duplicity here?

Since leaving office, Obama’s approval rating remains high at 63 percent, according to a Gallup survey conducted in June.

“President Obama has amongst the highest Q-rating in the world — exceeding LaBron [James], [Lionel] Messi and George Clooney — and is most certainly the most popular active political figure in the U.S.,” said Democratic strategist Chris Lehane. “[He] s incredibly popular with base Democratic voters who are critical cohorts in the midterms from a turnout perspective.”

“Highest Q-rating in the world?”  Wow, that’s impressive.  Don’t really understand how that’s gauged, but I’m sure there’s some technical science-y formula thing going on that allows you to make such a bold claim.  Otherwise, that would just be Fake News now, wouldn’t it?

But “exceeding LeBron James, Lionel Messi AND George Clooney!”  Oh Lord, this guy is POPULAR!  After ISIS, Benghazi, Iran Nuclear Deal, Syria, Illegal Alien Crisis, Cop Shootings, Record Deficits, Food Stamps Applications, Record Unemployment, Triple-A Rating Downgrade, and Education Dearth, to name a few, one would believe that his approval ratings would be necessarily lower to, say, I dunno, maybe, like 62%?  But, what do I know?

Democratic strategist David Wade added that “it’s a great moment for President Obama to emerge.”

Wait, what?  I thought he SHOULDN’T emerge?  Now, he should?  Oh, Parnes, can’t we just make up our minds?

“Unlike many of his recent predecessors, he left office without scandal and with high approval ratings,” Wade said. “And with the incumbent president in the White House bogged down by investigation and deep unpopularity, the contrast is helpful.

“Pundits are always going to overthink and overanalyze the pros and cons of having a former president on the campaign trail, but the truth is, there’s little downside. He has unique convening powers to draw a crowd, energize Democrats, make a closing argument, and then it is up to candidates to close the deal.”

Obama has already committed to campaign for Ralph Northam, the Democrat running for governor of Virginia. And he is expected to help other candidates running in races in November.

Aides to Obama would not detail how many requests they’ve received from Democratic candidates hoping to have the former president appear alongside them at campaign events. And they would not detail how many appearances Obama would make in the fall.

“It remains to be seen,” one aide said.

“Aides to Obama would not detail how many requests [NONE] they’ve received [NONE] from Democratic [NONE] candidates hoping to have the former president [NONE] appear alongside them [NONE] at campaign events.”

Now this is quality reporting.  The Hill should be proud to have Amie Parnes on staff.  Not only has she proven to be a loyal Leftist and sycophant for Obama, but she’s also shown how simple it is to confuse the hell out of anyone trying to make sense of Fake News.
