Half of Portland’s Violent Protestors Didn’t Bother to Vote

We see the protests, but what else can we know about these demonstrations and those participating?

More than 100 people have been arrested protesting in Portland, Ore., since President-elect Donald Trump’s victory last week.

But a report from KGW News shows that 69 of the 112 protesters arrested to date did not cast a ballot in the state on Election Day.

Casting a ballot is not a prerequisite for exercising your freedom of speech.  However, it is the way candidates get elected.  And since the act of casting a ballot takes less time and effort than does participating in a violent protest and getting arrested, you have to question the motives of those 69 who didn’t bother to vote.

It’s not like voting is all that hard to do.  Even further, Mr. Obama was caught telling non-citizens they could vote.  So there wasn’t any “suppress the vote” campaign that these non-voting protestors could use as an excuse.  Even if these protestors were bused in by Mr. Soros, they still could have voted in their home districts.

Which leaves us with the conclusion that these are just a bunch of malcontents — irresponsible individuals, derelict in their civic responsibilities, and more interested in rioting than in doing anything constructive.

Obama and Clinton can have them.
