Gun permits and the subsequent purchase of weapons have risen substantially in Cologne, Germany since the mass sexual assaults on New Year’s Eve of 2015.
The police have lost the public trust, as their response to the assaults, committed by marauding gangs of “foreign men”, was paltry. Now citizens feel they must arm themselves in order to feel safe in public places.
Estimates of at least eight to ten application requests are being presented to the Düsseldorf police, spokesperson Andre Hartwich stated. At this pace, the 1500 requests for 2015, will be more than doubled, though Hartwich believes the interest will decrease.
Thus far, Frankfurt Police procedural office reports that they have had at least 13 applications a day, in comparison to the previous year’s one to two a day.
When crime happens and the police to nothing, whether by government compulsion or negligence, the people will rise up to protect themselves, it is human nature to protect one’s own life.

Unfortunately guns are not a solution anymore. Even with a suicide bomber you could stop them if you can kill them before they detonate their explosives, or at the very least (if they have some sort of “shock” type vest or similar) keep them from killing as many people as they could. But liberals have neutered our gun rights almost as much as possible. Many states do not allow open carry and require a permit (which until recent supreme court rulings were MAY issue) for concealed carry. Gun-Free zones basically guarantee a whole area or building full of victims. Most employers refuse to allow even permit holders to carry on the job. For situations like Cologne, high-capacity magazines and rifles which allow fast reloading (like California requiring rifles to have a “bullet button”) are banned, so its nearly impossible to reload fast enough and keep firing until all threats are incapacitated.
Not to mention that a large portion of this country is simply terrified of guns and are too cowardly to learn how to use one. It used to be that EVERY family had at least one or more firearms for protection and/or hunting. Now the average American is so afraid of anything they consider “dangerous” and are so dependent on the government and law enforcement they refuse to take their own life and safety into their own hands.
And this is the Governments plan. Keep us distracted with nonsense (celebrity b******t and such) fighting each other so we are unaware of the big picture (BlackLivesMatter, Feminism, Democrats VS Republicans, etc). Keep us so terrified of life that we willingly give up all our rights, including our right to keep and bear arms. Keep most of us dependent on the State for Welfare, Food Stamps, health care and other entitlements so we cannot take care of ourselves without the State. Then, when things like Cologne happen, they will use it for more justification for things like “The Patriot Act” and even worse, most likely leading up to martial law or something similar and then we will become ACTUAL slaves or serfs instead of just basically being them.
This is standard operating procedure for any totalitarian regime in history. It has just taken longer here because of the safeguards our founding fathers put in place to prevent it, and it is going to happen again unless WE THE PEOPLE start taking a stand and stop it SOON.
