Gun permits and the subsequent purchase of weapons have risen substantially in Cologne, Germany since the mass sexual assaults on New Year’s Eve of 2015.
The police have lost the public trust, as their response to the assaults, committed by marauding gangs of “foreign men”, was paltry. Now citizens feel they must arm themselves in order to feel safe in public places.
Estimates of at least eight to ten application requests are being presented to the Düsseldorf police, spokesperson Andre Hartwich stated. At this pace, the 1500 requests for 2015, will be more than doubled, though Hartwich believes the interest will decrease.
Thus far, Frankfurt Police procedural office reports that they have had at least 13 applications a day, in comparison to the previous year’s one to two a day.
When crime happens and the police to nothing, whether by government compulsion or negligence, the people will rise up to protect themselves, it is human nature to protect one’s own life.

There leader needs to be put out in the streets where this is taken place so she can get a better understanding on how a country should be ran. Those that are in power and allowing this is the problem. Get new leadership and make certain it’s someone who loves your country and values your way of life. We here in the USA need to learn the same thing as we are allowing those in office to make bad decisions that are going to affect us and our kids as well.

Gun sales soar in Germany??? What a BS headline is this!!!!! You cannot just go in a store in Germany to buy hardware … #1: There are hardly any gun stores over there! #2: You need a “Waffen Erwerb Schein” to purchase one (weapon purchase permit). #3: You even need a permit to purchase ammo. #4: The gov’t issues these permits and they can deny it without any reason. #5: There is NO such thing like “carry permit” … the only ones with carry permits are Cops …… and the thugs don’t care much about the law anyway (just like here!). Sooooo maybe there should be a reality-check BEFORE posting such so-called “facts”. By the way; the rest of Europe is just as$#%&!@*when it comes to firearms …… with one exception >>> switzerland!!!!!!!!!!
