Gun permits and the subsequent purchase of weapons have risen substantially in Cologne, Germany since the mass sexual assaults on New Year’s Eve of 2015.
The police have lost the public trust, as their response to the assaults, committed by marauding gangs of “foreign men”, was paltry. Now citizens feel they must arm themselves in order to feel safe in public places.
Estimates of at least eight to ten application requests are being presented to the Düsseldorf police, spokesperson Andre Hartwich stated. At this pace, the 1500 requests for 2015, will be more than doubled, though Hartwich believes the interest will decrease.
Thus far, Frankfurt Police procedural office reports that they have had at least 13 applications a day, in comparison to the previous year’s one to two a day.
When crime happens and the police to nothing, whether by government compulsion or negligence, the people will rise up to protect themselves, it is human nature to protect one’s own life.

They are trying to get her out, then she grew up in DDR [East Germany] before wall come down. She got praise and rewards when she turned in friends, neigbors, and even family for saying anything about the government. West germans still think it was the worst mistake ever made, to bring the wall down, thinking it would united Germany. No it caused more problems, then they are not being treated the same, East Germans get more Retirement, never having paid in a dime, and then the west german government took money out of their paycheck each month to give to help fix up their roads and houses and whatever, I believe it was 14 % before taxes. And they did that until 2015, when again the government decided that well you will keep paying the 14%, and give it to help the refugees. And they called that the Solidarity tax. They are fighting mad and have been for a long time. But the people from East Germany are voting for her each time, and so both Germanys are divided and not united.
