As the issue of child marriage gains more attention, New Jersey legislators decided to do something about it and passed a bill that would prohibit marriage of any children under age 18.
Governor Chris Christie was handed the opportunity to make New Jersey the first state to officially ban child marriage without exception.
Nancy Munoz, the bill’s main sponsor, is a Republican assemblywoman from Union. She introduced the bill after hearing testimony in committee hearings about children being forced into marriage “for religious reasons.”
Under current New Jersey law, children under age 16 can be legally married with parental consent and approval from a sympathetic judge.

Oh wrong Answer Christy ….Just wrong on so many levels
That’s just plain stupid
Get rid of this man
Then this makes you no better than the Muslims
IDIOT RINO
If that were the reasoning used, then mormons could legally have multiple wives.
He’s a pure Yankee dumbass 100% way to go your trashing all over America
We need laws based on what protects children.
Is it any wonder why Christie’s approval rating is at 10% and was rejected for a cabinet post in Trump’s Administration?
So tired of f**e news.
