As the issue of child marriage gains more attention, New Jersey legislators decided to do something about it and passed a bill that would prohibit marriage of any children under age 18.
Governor Chris Christie was handed the opportunity to make New Jersey the first state to officially ban child marriage without exception.
Nancy Munoz, the bill’s main sponsor, is a Republican assemblywoman from Union. She introduced the bill after hearing testimony in committee hearings about children being forced into marriage “for religious reasons.”
Under current New Jersey law, children under age 16 can be legally married with parental consent and approval from a sympathetic judge.

Since WHEN do we pick and choose what laws we will enforce? Since WHEN do we permit religious beliefs to OVERRULE our Constitutional laws and Bill of Rights? How far will this be permitted? Will we permit Muslims to kill infidels, homosexuals, and apostates according to their beliefs? Will we allow raping of non believers? Will we allow Honor Killings? What Christie is saying is that he will allow them to follow their Religious based Sharia Law…..and it is INCOMPATIBLE with our Constitution.
BE AWARE that the Muslim Plan to overtake the world is to establish SHARIA LAW. Christy’s reasoning is FLAWED and he is misguided. Child marriage CANNOT be allowed to open the door for SHARIA LAW. It cannot over rule the Laws Of Our Land. We must NOT allow this.

We ALREADY have provisions that allow 16 and 17 year olds to marry in special circumstances. DON’T weaken our Laws!
