Our constitution was effectively re-written once again this week, as a group of liberal judges on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decided that the right to gun ownership in public is not protected by the constitution. It makes one wonder, if judges think that the ability to carry a gun isn’t a constitutional right, what does the Second Amendment protect?
This ruling is further proof of the dire need this country has for conservative judge appointments, and no sitting Governor seems more aware of this than Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
In a tweet attacking the senseless conceal carry decision, Abbott leveled a clear threat, “come and get it.”
Unfortunately for the Governor, state executives and legislators are being stripped of their rights to create and enforce the laws in their own states. Instead, activist judges have decided to grant themselves lawmaking power in order to push their personal agendas.

I’ve been saying for a while now that they should lead by example, if that goes well, I might consider disarmament.
It is all American’s responsibility to stand against any and all ruling or laws that are unconstitutional!
Texas #1 in jobs , respectful folks , gun owning Texas with actual responsibilities protecting their families from foreign or domestic threat. The best state to have the best smoked brisket, bbqs and live fire on your property. Liberals and hippies not welcome gtfo..
I just moved from IL a year ago and I’m here to tell you Texas kicks$#%&!@*on all these issues. It’s not perfect because we have liberal’s too! Get rid of liberal’s and laws to uphold the constitution will be passed! You can argue about the fees but nearly every state has fees and taxes regardless of constitution. I don’t like it but in IL I didn’t have the ability to carry until two years ago. And they charge you way more in fees just so the libs can steal it!
Shoot every one of these judges that voted to steal our Rights or do you think we have the 2nd Amendment for some other purpose?
It has nothing to do with affording the license, you have to be able to pass a backround check which is a federal requirement, the fee is required in order to run that backround check, $64.00 in Ohio, not a big deal.
No specific laws are listed in the Constitution. The courts have the power of “judicial review” to decide on the Constitutionality of laws since 1803 (Marburg v Madison). According to the judicial branch ALL of these regulations on guns ARE Constitutional… assault weapons ban, background checks, licenses and permits, waiting periods, magazine limits, ban on cop killer bullets, no fly no buy, denial of gun sales to felons and crazy folks… ALL of those are Constitutional… none are specifically mentioned in the Constitution. We can probably agree murder is illegal, it’s not mentioned either.
Normally when I teach a course on the Constitution, I charge a fee… but for you Layne, it’s on me although this is rather basic stuff, it seem like you would already know it. There WILL be a quiz later.
more basics… the Constitution (1787) created a national government. The powers are divided into 3 branches. Article 1 describes the powers and responsibilities of the Legislative branch (Congress) They create laws. Article 2 is the Executive Branch. The POTUS applies the law. Article 3 is the Judicial branch, court system, which interprets the law and rules on their Constitutionality. Article 1, Section 8 lists the powers of Congress. Among them is “the power to regulate trade and commerce….” That includes making laws regulating the buying and selling of arms. You need not worry about some law being snuck through, the NRA challenges ANY and ALL gun control bills & laws. They usually lose in court. HOWEVER, a fairly recent case involved a city law that banned gun ownership for everyone. The SC ruled the law unconstitutional (null and void) establishing an individual right to keep arms. The same case UPHELD background checks. licenses and other regs.Soooo nobody is gonna take your guns but regulations are Constitutional. Take notes for the quiz.
No one should recognize any laws or changes to laws that effect the 2nd amendment.
No state or the federal government has any right to penalize Law abiding citizens.
Sitting governor! Bwahaha that’s Rich
