Former Vice President Al Gore has been caught stretching the truth again. In an interview with The New York Times, Gore claimed that the sudden appearance of fish swimming in the water-filled streets of Miami was a direct result of the polar ice caps melting and consequently driving tides up.
A quick check with the National Weather Service, however, shows that the soaked Miami streets are primarily caused by “high astronomical tides due to the lunar cycle” that render the coastal cities of Southern Florida particularly vulnerable.
