When John McCain and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey paid the Navajo Nation a visit on Friday, they probably didn’t expect to get chased out of the reservation by a group of exceedingly angry Native Americans.
The pair went to celebrate the Native Americans contribution during World War II, whose indecipherable language helped keep messages secret from enemies.
The protesters had already gathered at the Navajo Nation Museum, and once the realized that McCain Ducey had shown up, darted outside and literally chased them off their reservation shouting, “Get off our land.”
Move to Page 2:
The big difference was a society was created that assigned people to land… Taxes came later. One sad thing, leading to Indians to revolt, was being pushed out. Indians lived WITH nature. Yes, some attacked others as people always resort to war one time or another.
Language was another delema in this “ownership” yes. I should have been handled differently. Indians were free spirits and nomadic. They killed wild life only as necessary, not a sport. Look who almost caused buffaloes extinction.
Very interesting.
