Cologne Mayor After Mass Rapes: Women Should ‘Prepare’ Better, Keep ‘Arm’s Length’ Away From Migrants

Civilized Cologne has been relegated to an area of terror, as the uncontrolled influx of Muslim immigrants have taken over and demonstrate contempt for the government and the citizens that have allowed them a place of refuge.  Now the citizens need refuge from the immigrants.

The new major, who just got out of the hospital after being stabbed by an anti-immigrant activist, said:

“Neither the city nor the police are able to guarantee in the territory described the safety of tourists and locals. Especially for women it must be assumed that a high security risk is here in the evening and night hours. At New Year’s Eve there was a legal vacuum and a no-go area for women. With the climax of the Carnival season it is unfortunately expected to be a similar situation”.

German police have admitted to losing several urban areas to migrant gangs as so-called no-go zones, but this is possibly the first time a public square in the centre of a European city has been acknowledged by officials as having been lost to criminality, and out of the control of police at night.

Other highly questionable statements by the new mayor includes some very trite advice:

BERLIN — The mayor of Cologne has inflamed a debate in Germany about migrants and sexual harassment by suggesting that women can protect themselves from men on the streets by keeping them more than an arm’s length away.

The remarks by the mayor, Henriette Reker, were made Tuesday to reporters after the Cologne police said they had received more than 90complaints of robbery and sexual assault, including two accounts of rape, by groups of men who targeted young women in and around the city’s main train station in the crush of revelers on New Year’s Eve.

By Wednesday, Ms. Reker was being widely ridiculed by commentators and across social media for putting the onus on the victims of the attacks.

“It is always possible to keep a certain distance that is longer than an arm’s length,” Ms. Reker told reporters on Tuesday, suggesting that city authorities would provide guidelines for young women who find themselves surrounded by aggressive men attempting to grope them.

The police, who have yet to make any arrests, said the assaults had been carried out by several hundred young men, whom they described as having a “North African or Arabic” appearance.
